I Want Easter to Come

April 3, 2020
Three Crosses for Easter

We are living in one of the darkest times any of us could have imagined and none has ever seen. We yearn to return to what used to be, but will that ever be our reality again? The stock market has taken a roller coaster ride that wasn’t seen even in The Great Depression. Our city, state, and federal governments are further in debt than any could have ever thought possible. When I hear officials talk of deficits in the billions and trillions, I can’t begin to wrap my head around what that looks like. All I see in my mind is film footage of people in Germany at the end of WWI, pushing around wheelbarrows full of paper money that had no value.

I keep hearing the slogan, “We’re all in this together.” It’s a nice sentiment, but what does it mean? Is it saying that everything will be okay because we are in the same boat? I’m sure for those who were on the Titanic, being together didn’t make them feel better. We need something more.

With what the world is facing today, what I truly want is for Easter to come. Not in the usual and lovely way of candy, flowers, Easter baskets, and baby chicks, but in the resurrection of Godly repentance and transformed hearts. We need to turn back to the Lord.

And it desperately needs to happen in His house first. “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)

Isn’t that what we need most? Only God can do that. And when He does, our hearts, minds, bodies, and our land, will be made whole.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me. I have not loved You with all my heart, mind, soul, and spirit. In not doing that, I have allowed what I know isn’t of You to enter my home and my heart. I have not loved my neighbor as myself, but have lived selfishly by wanting to be accepted and liked instead of living Your truth in love. Please forgive me. Please have mercy. Please turn all of us back to You.

In Jesus Precious name,
Kimberly

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

AMEN MY sister, we knew this was coming and was fore warned but the shock reality that we are living in it now. No, the world as we have known it has passed and not to be seen again. What will our new life norm be like? I pray for us all to repent, give God his glory for He is our only salvation. Marlene
