“Therefore by Him (Jesus) let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”
Hebrews 10:15, nkjv
As we find our way through this calendar year, most—if not all Americans—can hardly believe that we are already into November. In less than forty days, Christmas will be here, and Thanksgiving will be but a fleeting memory of good food and time spent with loved ones. New Year’s Eve will come and go leaving us to muster some semblance of courage to start all over again.
That is…
Unless we pause, take a breath, and do something we all too often forget to do.
Be thankful.
If we’re truthful, what happens to and around us often makes us feel anything but that. Looking heavenward when we’re bruised by life can seem impossible. And it would be, without Jesus.
Thankfulness—because Jesus is our Savior, Creator, and King—is where we need to begin. For when we offer it—through thick and thin, easy or hard—we are saying to the Lord, I trust You. You are in control. You are the God of our impossible.
This beautiful holiday is just a week away. As we face whatever is in front of us, let’s begin by offering the sacrifice of praise that will turn—if we let it— into our heart’s wellspring of joy.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Much love,
Kimberly
